About
Murdofleur is an ongoing experiment in collaboration, with the focus on young voices. The website’s name is derived from a misnoma about sea flowers – often assumed to be plants, they are in fact living creatures. Murdofleur feels the same way. In response to a regularly changing rostrum of issues, Murdofleur takes breath through conversations in words, sounds and images, all saved in our online archive.
Potted history
In the Spring of 2009 Amy Mcleod had an epiphany about Coblogeration™ with the aim of harnessing the web’s potential for uniting individuals. True to its status as a living organism, from an initial forum of committed conversationalists and through a series of ‘trans-global mini love-ins’, after six months of trial and feedback Murdofleur underwent a second stage of genesis. Now under the guidance of its online curators Rob Gallagher and Dorothy Feaver, their concept for each section is derived from a variety of non-digital ephemera, harbouring distinctly nostalgic and evocative association. Murdofleur’s mantelpiece is the holding place for all sorts of cultural connections.
